From 1982 until the early nineties Brian worked as a full time cartoonist, occasionally using the pen name “Mollusc”. Based at a little studio and gallery in Islington he contributed to numerous magazines and publications including The Cricketer, Cyclists’ Monthly, and the women’s consumer magazines What Diet? and Best. He also worked as a writer for the now-legendary “junior TV times” Look In.
Additionally, Brian appeared as a “live” cartoonist and fast caricature artist at exhibitions and special events all over the UK and in 1996 appeared regularly on BBC1 as The Castaway Cartoonist alongside childrens’ presenters Zoe Ball and Chris Jarvis.
